Jasmine S. Young is the founder & CEO of Southern Heritage Financial Group, a CPA firm she established in 2014 in efforts to spread financial literacy around the globe. She also established a charitable arm to Southern Heritage, The Financial Literacy Institute, Inc., to which provides financial literacy resources, courses, and programs to underserved and underprivileged communities. A certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, Jasmine obtained her bachelor’s of science in accounting from Alabama A&M University in 2013 and her master’s of business administration from the University of Arkansas at Grantham in 2016. She has over eight years of experience providing both individuals and businesses with tax, bookkeeping, payroll, financial consulting services. She also has over eleven years of experience in government accounting having served as federal government employee across four different federal government agencies.
Jasmine is also an author having released two self-published planners: Financial Wellness Planner: The Ultimate Guide to Financial Literacy and The Bottom Line: The Entrepreneurial Financial Planner.
On top of providing accounting solutions and teaching financial literacy, Jasmine is also a philanthropist starting her own scholarship, The Maggie & Gillis Dickinson Scholarship, which is awarded to Alabama residents who are high school seniors with aspirations to major in a business-related field and to undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a business-related field to increase the amount of business industry professionals.
Because of Southern Heritage’s overall reach, industry impact, spirit of innovation, market demand, and future readiness, Jasmine is a 2020 recipient of the Top 100 Global Leaders in Finance Award which was conferred on June 28, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Global Conference for Insurance and Finance.
In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys all things music related, spending time with her family, travelling, and trying new restaurants.
