SITUATION
The City of Sturgis selected a regional electrical contractor specializing in PV system development, design and installation to install a 54.6kW system to cover the Harley-Davidson Rally Point Plaza in Sturgis, SD. Quest Renewables’ QuadPod™ double cantilever was selected because it could be installed quickly with minimal site disruption.
APPROACH
Quest Renewables provided a site support person to assist with construction training. A local construction crew assembled and installed the QuadPod double cantilever in just five days in advance of the 78th Annual Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™.
OUTCOME
From material delivery to powering up, the system was completed in just 5 working days with minimal interruption to the plaza area. Construction was safe and efficient, and construction was able to be easily paused one afternoon for a parade to travel by the site.
