Quest Renewables customer, ReVision Energy, has completed the construction of their first solar carport in New Hampshire. The carport is on the top level of a new, six-story parking garage in downtown Manchester.

The 44.8 kW solar carport provides electricity for the parking facility and shade for up to eight vehicles. Quest Renewables designed, engineered, and fabricated the QuadPod™ double cantilever system for the solar carport. REC manufactured the 130 solar panels installed on the truss.

The carport truss required just five days to construct and erect, including the mounting of the inverters, solar panels, and direct current wiring. The QuadPod system was assembled adjacent to the garage at ground level, significantly limiting the amount of work and equipment needed on the deck itself.

“This project showed both the robustness and value of the QuadPod system. The system is on the top floor of the garage, where you have to design for a snow load of 60 pounds per square foot,” said Will Arnold, Vice President of Sales and Products at Quest Renewables.

“This particular garage only allows for lightweight scissor lifts and forklifts, conditions that would typically present large barriers to steel construction. To see the structure built in five days, including only one crane day, is a testament to the continued evolution of our product and to the ReVision Energy team,” Arnold added. “Their people are truly top-notch professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality systems.”

The project was featured in the Concord Monitor and The Forum.
